Excavation and Trench Safety
TCPA Virtual Webinar
Starts May 7Starts May 7Virtual Webinar
Service Description
One of the most dangerous types of roadway construction is trenching, which kills 40 construction workers every year. Join us for a 1-hour webinar to learn about OSHA’s recommended protective systems for preventing cave-ins; sloping, benching, shoring, or shielding for trenches 5 feet or deeper. Cave-ins are just one concern. Other safety concerns include falls, hazardous atmospheres, suspended loads and traffic. We will refer to OSHA’s Construction Industry Standards to tackle those concerns, highlighting best practices for locating utilities, keeping spoil piles and equipment back from edges, ensuring safe entry/exit points, monitoring atmospheric hazards, and addressing water accumulation.
