Manufacturing reinforced concrete pipe, box, and precast drainage structures is labor intensive - involving lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, and rigorous material handling. Our line of work can be done in a safe workplace if common safety procedures are in place, practiced regularly, and a safety culture is present. Our number one priority is to send our employees home to their families in a safe and healthy manner. Controlling exposures to hazards in a concrete pipe or precast plant is vital to protecting workers. The Plant Safety Roundtable includes panelists from our producing and associate members. They will highlight our industry’s best practices for identifying risks (suspended loads/falls/confined space/struck by) and mitigating them (hierarchy of safety).
