Urban Drainage & Stormwater Workshop
TCPA Workshop
Service Description
Whether you're an engineer, transportation industry-member, city planner, Public Works professional, or contractor, this workshop is for YOU! Let's work together to make our cities more resilient and sustainable! Here is our opportunity to make a huge impact with a full day in-person training! Course Topics: Post Installation Inspection - The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly The design is complete, the project has been awarded, and construction is underway. All is good in our world. As Engineers, we just sit back and watch the process unfold, right? Unfortunately, what we have designed and specified does not always translate to the construction project. Unforeseen site conditions, material quality and availability issues, and change orders require that we not take a passive role in the delivery of our projects. We will discuss steps to ensure storm drainage pipe material quality before and after installation, and how to determine if it is good, bad or ugly. Accelerated Project Delivery - This Traffic Sucks! When Will this Project Be Completed? Unfortunately for us, the public typically does not understand the complexities of an infrastructure project. All they know is that they are being inconvenienced. Thus we strive to shorten project delivery schedules. Delivering projects early can benefit our citizenry in multiple ways: by shortening detours and traffic disruption, removing safety hazards, and minimizing environmental impact. We will discuss the concept of "Every Day Counts" and explore options for delivering projects early using Reinforced Concrete Box Culverts and precast couplings. Standardization of Precast - Review of New DMS7305 This seminar will introduce and discuss details of the TxDOT Standard Inlet and Manole Program. Proper manufacturing and installation of precast structures ensures they will meet or exceed their design function and maintain the integrity of the public infrastructure. The greater understanding one has of the precast structures process, the greater potential for time and cost savings. Standardizing precast designs is a huge benefit to everyone.
