Urban Drainage & Stormwater - Beaumont
TCPA Workshop
Service Description
Course Topics: “This Traffic Sucks! When Will this Project Be Completed?” Unfortunately the public typically does not understand the complexities of an infrastructure project. All they know is that they are being inconvenienced. Thus we strive to shorten project delivery schedules. Delivering projects early can benefit our citizenry in multiple ways: by shortening detours and traffic disruption, removing safety hazards, and minimizing environmental impact. We will discuss the concept of "Every Day Counts" and explore options for delivering projects early using Reinforced Concrete Box Culverts and precast couplings. “I wish we had known about this earlier!” The benefits of inspection. The ability to go back in time and make a change that would have prevented a current problem would be a tremendous asset. Unfortunately, unless you possess a Wayback Machine, a phone booth at a Circle K, a DeLorean, or a magic school bus, this is not yet possible. Therefore, inspection during every phase of a project: pre-construction, during construction, and post-construction, is critical. As we know, different material types and different construction methods require the inspector to focus on different things. We will look at the inspection process for storm drainage pipe installation and provide some helpful tips and resources to assist the inspector in the process of ensuring a safe, resilient and long-lasting infrastructure project. The Benefits of 3rd Party Certification The importance of 3rd party certification for manufacturers of drainage infrastructure products. The Often-Untold Story of Drainage Pipe and Box Culvert Joints -Abstract forthcoming
